Who doesn’t like brownies? These are no exception, but made our way with organic dark chocolate, organic vanilla beans, low GI buckwheat flour and sweet potato. Well, we had to make it a little healthy!
From Skye, Our Dietitian:
"There’s nothing wrong with a dessert here or there, but why not make them as nutritious as possible (while still being delicious!) Our brownies are packed full of sweet potato, an excellent source of fibre and vitamin A. We’ve also swapped regular flour for nutritious buckwheat flour. Buckwheat is a seed rather than a grain and is believed to be one of the best dietary sources of the flavonoid rutin, which acts as a powerful antioxidant.
To add extra health benefits, we use extra virgin olive oil instead of butter to reduce the saturated fat content and add in some extra nutrients. Extra virgin olive oil contains the polyphenol oleocanthal, which has been found to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. "
